About PreVelity

Built by a physician who got tired of finding things late.

The founder story

Medicine is teaching at its most consequential.

Dr. Patrick Mullen didn’t choose medicine so much as medicine chose him. A seven-year accelerated BS/MD program at the University of South Florida was opt-out, not opt-in, and a lifelong pull toward science and teaching made it an easy decision. What he didn’t expect was how personal the work would become: helping someone understand their own body well enough to change its course.

He wanted to care for the whole person, not one organ. That led him to Family Medicine residency at UNC Chapel Hill — delivering babies on one rotation, running codes in the ICU on another. He coached CrossFit on the side and began giving talks on exercise and fitness, a thread that led to a second board certification in Obesity Medicine and a growing conviction: most of what determines a long, healthy life is decided well before anyone gets sick.

That conviction became Precision Health Concierge Medicine in Sarasota. But running the practice surfaced a pattern. Younger, healthy patients often didn’t see the value in a physician available around the clock. Older patients understood it — but many already had a doctor they trusted. That trust shouldn’t be replaced. It should be reinforced.

A treating physician is time-limited by design, without the bandwidth to order advanced screening, interpret it, and walk every patient through what it means. PreVelity was built to close that gap: a preventive layer above the doctor you already have, surfacing what routine care misses — especially cardiac and cancer risk — early enough to act on. Add life to years, and years to life.

“I’m not trying to be your doctor. I’m trying to make sure that when something is finally found, it’s found early enough to matter — and that the person who treats you knows about it first.” — Patrick Mullen, MD
How we work with your doctor

Find the quiet stage — while it’s still just a signal.

Disease starts years before a diagnosis. Our job is to find that stage, then give you a plain-language plan that almost always starts with how you eat, move, sleep, and manage stress. When a risk runs deeper, consulting cardiology or oncology joins your care team, working alongside the doctor you already have.
